Creating Memorable Moments That Inspire and Educate

For many students, meaningful exposure to the arts goes beyond the classroom—it’s about feeling seen, inspired, and capable of engaging with new experiences. The White Family Foundation’s support of the Stadium Theatre Imagination Series helps make that possible, providing opportunities for students to attend live performances they might not otherwise experience.

Teachers consistently highlight the value of these trips. One shared,

“The opportunity to get dressed up, travel outside of their school, and be greeted by professional staff as if they were important patrons made for a memorable day.”

Many students have never seen a live performance before, and these experiences allow literature and curriculum to come alive in ways that reading alone cannot achieve. From making predictions about characters to discussing story adaptations, students deepen their understanding while creating lasting memories.

As another teacher reflected,

“Each one of my students was glued to their seat and mesmerized by the actors being right in front of them. The story completely captured them, and their conversations on the way home showed just how much it inspired them.”

The program also removes barriers for families in urban districts, where financial and logistical challenges often limit access to the arts. Students leave not only with academic growth, but with a sense of excitement, confidence, and belonging that extends far beyond a single field trip.

By investing in programs like the Imagination Series, the White Family Foundation ensures that young people in Rhode Island can engage with live theater in ways that are both educational and transformative. These experiences spark curiosity, support learning, and help students see themselves as capable participants in the arts—empowered, inspired, and truly valued.
