April 25, 2026, will mark the 3rd annual Tribute to John Hazen White III at Narragansett Brewery.
Each year, the annual tribute brings our community together in remembrance and purpose. Through raffles, donations, and collective generosity, we continue to grow the scholarship—ensuring that John’s legacy is not only remembered, but actively lived. Each scholarship given offers a powerful reminder of what this support makes possible: a student’s journey strengthened, a future expanded, and a life changed in John’s name.
In this way, we keep John’s spirit alive—not only in memory, but in action—by investing in students, believing in their promise, and helping them step confidently toward the futures he so passionately championed.
John Hazen White III Endowed Scholarship
John Hazen White III believed deeply in the power of education to change lives. His commitment to Community Prep School went far beyond service—he gave his time, his energy, and his heart as both a Board member and a devoted volunteer. He was inspired by the educators who meet students where they are, nurture their potential, and open doors to futures that once felt out of reach.
When John passed away in 2022, we sought a way to honor that passion in a form that would endure. The John Hazen White III Endowed Scholarship was created to carry his belief in opportunity forward, transforming his legacy into lasting impact. Today, the fund has grown to over $200,000, each dollar representing a shared commitment to the values John lived by.
